Registered Mail

You may want to offer your customer / or a customer requests the added security of tracking and insurance.

YOU CAN with Registered Mail - avoid paying expensive parcel rates.

The cost is an additional $10.50 on top of your Non-standard/Oversize Lettermail postal rate. +GST.

Non-Standard/Oversize + Registered Mail offers the security of proof of mailing, tracking, signature, and up to $100 insurance and delivery confirmation - this option for non-paper items is only available when sending within Canada.

TIP - In many instances, it will be cheaper than sending a small item as regular or Expedited parcel.
For example: Sending a necklace from Victoria BC to rural Ontario and the customer requested tracking. To send the small Slotbox in an envelope (under 100g) as EXPEDITED PARCEL was +$20.00…Yikes!
In contrast, to send as Registered Mail was the $2.09 stamp + $10.50 Registered Mail fee = $12.59 +GST …Yeah!

(If you don’t need tracking or insurance, then it would only cost the $2.09 stamp to send in the post).

If you wish to take advantage of this service please note:

1) Registered Mail for Non-Standard/Oversize Items must be done in person at a Canada Post location. The clerk must confirm weight, length, width, depth of the box. Ensuring it fits the 20mm template.

2) Non-paper items (like jewelry, soap, textiles, ornaments etc..) are only available for sending as Non-Standard/Oversize + Registered Mail WITHIN Canada. Anything crossing the border that is not a paper document does not qualify.

3) The information provided is in regards to sending NON-PAPER ITEMS as NON-STANDARD/OVERSIZED + REGISTERED MAIL only. You can absolutely use the Registered Mail service for sending PAPER documents all over the world!
