FOLDING THE BOX

1) Pop out the tabs

2) PRE-FOLD all the lines of the BOX. This softens up the sturdy cardboard and helps the box to fold easily and squarely.

3) On the side panels - there are two lines of perforated dots =============== Ensure you fold a nice smooth FLAT EDGE between these dots!!!

4) Tuck in the 2 long side tabs and fold over the side panels, making side walls.

5) Ensure tabs have cleared the slots in the base.

6) Once packed, square up the box and securely tape closed

7) Tada! A sturdy box to send as Other/Non-Standard Oversize Lettermail

TROUBLESHOOTING

The SLOTBOX is the deepest box mailer offering the most internal capacity of all box mailers on the Canadian market that fit the 20mm Canada Post slot regulation. Every millimetre counts!. When folding into a box, please follow instructions to ensure a nice and square 18.5mm deep box. If you encounter issues, here are some tips to help you out.

a) If the box gets “hung up” at the edge or corner passing the template, it is not quite flat. Fix = tamp corners down. You can use a hammer to gently tamp the edge flat or use the back of scissor handle to smooth it out.

b) If the middle of the box is bulging and gets “stuck” passing through the template, then the box is overpacked or item is too big. Rearrange items, take out some of the packing material, close the box up and try again. Studs sometimes fit better when off the display card and lying on their side. If you still don’t fit, your item may be too large to mail as lettermail.

c) If tabs pop out of slots, the box is not square - usually the culprit is the perforated side edge is not flat. Fix: Smooth it down flat. The handle of scissors works well as a hard edge to aid this step. When box is folded correctly the tabs stay in place.
