New to Sending Lettermail in Canada Post?
The biggest issue I have had are apartment or condo buildings not having a UNIT #. When an order does not have a unit number, google the address to see image of the building. If it is a house, you are good to mail. If you see an apartment building, reach out to your customer and ask if there is a unit number and/or that it is their current mailing address.
Take a photo of the envelope. If the customer contacts you, send them the photo. It helps prove you did send it, and will help them have a visual of what to look for in or around the mailbox.
Know that Canada Post has a service RTS (retrun to sender) service that returns undelivered lettermail mail at no extra cost to you! Be sure to have a return address in top left hand corner of envelope. In the event the customer forgot to give you the unit number or moved to a different address, Canada Post will RTS the mail.
Remaining tips are common sense but good reminders. Make sure the address is easy to read, postage is correct amount, and the envelope fits through the 20mm slot.
Follow these steps and you will find success sending as lettermail!
